Elizabeth Goodwin, the first female officer of the English Household Cavalry passed away at the age of 28 years only.
Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Goodwin war eine Pionierin. Sie wurde als erste Frau in eines der prestigeträchtigsten berittenen Regimenter im Vereinigten Königreich aufgenommen, nachdem sie ihre Zeit in der Militärakademie Sandhurst als ‘beeindruckendste Offizierin’ beendet hatte und mit dem Ehrenschwert ausgezeichnet wurde. In Deutschland wurde Capt. Lizzie Goodwin bekannt, als sie den Auftritt der Household Cavalry beim CHIO Aachen plante und kommandierte. Nun ist Lizzie Goodwin im Alter von nur 28 Jahren gestorben.
Während die Household Cavalry nur den plötzlichen Tod der Offizierin bekanntgab, berichtet die britische Presse, dass Elizabeth Goodwin bei einem Autounfall in Surrey ums Leben kam.

Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Goodwin was a trailblazer. She was the first women in one of the most prestigeous cavalry regiments in the United Kingdom, after having finished the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and having earned the Sword of Honour for the most impressive young officer. In Germany, Capt. Lizzie Goodwin was known for having planned and commanded the performances of the Household Cavalry at the CHIO Aachen. Now, Lizzie Goodwin passed away in the age of 28 years only.
While the Household Cavalry only announced the officer’s sudden death, the British media reports that Elizabeth Goodwin died in a car crash in Surrey.
