Mit einer fröhlichen Eröffnungsfeier, auf der Max Giesinger spontan für den erkrankten Wincent Weiss sang und Isabell Werth’s Gold-Pferd Bella Rose eine standing ovation von den Zehntausenden Zuschauern auf Ihrer letzten Ehrenrunde bekam, ist der CHIO Aachen 2022 unter dem Motto ‚Welcome to the Festival‘ offiziell eröffnet.
Bereits zuvor hatte der französische Altmeister Roger-Yves Bost mit der 11-jährigen Selle Francais-Stute Bluemuch des Baleines (Chacco Blue x Clinton) den Stawag-Preis gewonnen (0/62,78 Sek), gefolgt vom Mannschafts-Europameister von 2009, dem Schweizer Pius Schwizer im Sattel einer weiteren 11-jährigen Stute des Selle Francais, Bakatina de Beaufour (Ogano Sitte x Burggraaf) mit einer Nullrunde in 64,27 Sekunden. Als bester Deutscher beendeten Mario Stevens und Botakara OLD (10-jährige Oldenburger Stute von Balou du Rouet x Espri) die Prüfung auf Rang drei (0/64,34 Sek)
With a great opening ceremony ‚welcome to the festival‘, in which Max Giesinger, who stepped in on short notice for Wincent Weiss (who was tested positive for Covid), thrilled the audience and in which Isabell Werth’s gold mare Bella Rose showed her last lap of honour in front of a standing ovation of tens of thousands spectators, the CHIO Aachen 2022 was officially opened.
Already yesterday afternoon, French riding icon Roger Yves Bost and the 11-year old Selle Francais-mare Bluemuch des Baleines (Chacco Blue x Clinton) could claim the victory of the Stawag-Price (0/62,78 sec), followed by the team European champion from 2009, Swiss rider Pius Schwizer with another 11-year old Selle Francais-mare, Bakatina de Beaufour (Ogano Sitte x Burggraaf) with a clear round in 64,27 seconds. Best German rider was Mario Stevens. Together with Botakara OLD (10-year old Oldenbourg mare by Balou du Rouet x Espri), he finished third (0/64,34 sec.)
